Enjoying
Your Work
“So
I decided there is nothing better than to enjoy food and drink and to
find satisfaction in work. Then I realized that these pleasures are
from the hand of God.” Ecclesiastes 2: 24
I
find it difficult to believe how anyone can be happy if they don't
enjoy what they do for a living, at least most of the time.
Eventually, if one is not happy in their work it is going to show up
in their health, in their families and in their relationships with
others. A job you hate will eventually make you sick.
Yet
the world is filled with people who hate what they have to do for a
living. Most of these people have to be at work eight to ten hours a
day. If you truly can't stand your work this can be very bad for the
soul.
I
believe that the above scripture verse indicates that God's will is
for us to be happy in our work. I doubt very much that it is God's
will for a person to work in an occupation that they hate.
